Before traveling, always check Kazbegi weather, temperatures and current road conditions. Mountain conditions can change much faster than in Tbilisi or other lowland areas.

For a first visit, a one-day excursion is a good introduction. If you have more time, staying in Stepantsminda for two or more days will allow you to explore beyond the main attractions and experience the quieter side of the mountains.

Kazbegi is not simply a place to visit and photograph. It is a journey through mountain landscapes, Georgian history, religious heritage and local culture — and one of the destinations that should be on any Georgia travel itinerary.
