Mtirala National Park

Mtirala National Park, located near Batumi in western Georgia, is one of the country’s most lush and biodiverse areas. The name "Mtirala," meaning "crying," comes from the park's high humidity and frequent rainfall, making it one of the wettest regions in Georgia.

The park spans over 15,000 hectares and is part of the Colchic rainforest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is home to diverse flora and fauna, including rare species such as the Caucasian salamander. With its subtropical forests, waterfalls, and rivers, Mtirala has been a significant natural landmark and is now a popular spot for eco-tourism, offering hiking trails, ziplining, and picnic areas.
