Day 1 – Arrival in Tbilisi & Journey to Kakheti Wine Tour
Upon arrival at Tbilisi International Airport, you will be met by our driver and transferred to Kakheti, the heart of Georgia’s wine region.
This day will be dedicated to exploring some of Kakheti's finest wineries and vineyards, as well as its historical landmarks:
· KTW Wine Shop – Stop by this renowned wine shop to experience the rich culture and diverse varieties of Georgian wine.
· Saint Nino Monastery – A peaceful and spiritual site, dedicated to Saint Nino, the missionary who brought Christianity to Georgia.
· Sighnaghi – The "City of Love," where you’ll explore cobbled streets, colorful houses, and stunning views of the Alazani Valley. You will also visit the Sighnaghi Wine Factory, known for its exceptional wine production and use of traditional winemaking techniques.
Additionally, you will have the chance to explore two more renowned wineries in Sighnaghi:
· Pheasant’s Tears Winery – Known for producing wines using local grape varieties and traditional methods, this winery offers a unique experience of Georgian winemaking.
· Kakhetian Traditional Winemaking – A winery that maintains ancient winemaking techniques, offering guests the opportunity to taste wines made in clay vessels, as done for centuries.
Enjoy a wine tasting at one of the selected wineries in the region before settling down for an overnight stay in Sighnaghi.
Overnight in Sighnaghi
Day 2 – Kakheti Tour: Gremi, Alaverdi, and Telavi
On the second day of your Kakheti wine tour, you will visit:
· Gremi Citadel & Church – A beautifully preserved 16th-century royal complex, once the capital of the Kakheti Kingdom, offering panoramic views of the surrounding valley.
· Alaverdi Monastery – One of Georgia’s oldest monasteries, dating back to the 6th century, known for its impressive church and rich history.
After exploring these historical sites, you'll continue your journey to Telavi, the heart of Kakheti’s wine region. In Telavi, you will visit some of the best wineries, including:
· Tsinandali Winery – Famous for its royal history and exceptional wines, this winery offers an opportunity to explore the charming estate and sample local varieties.
· Teliani Valley Winery – A family-owned winery offering an intimate experience with high-quality wines crafted from local grapes.
· Marani Winery – A well-regarded winery in Telavi known for its traditional winemaking methods and excellent selection of wines.
You can also add another winery of your choice for additional wine tastings.
Enjoy your evening in Telavi, where you will spend the night surrounded by the vineyards and scenic views of the Caucasus Mountains.
Day 3 – Return to Tbilisi & City Tour
After breakfast and check-out from your hotel in Sighnaghi, you will travel back to Tbilisi via the picturesque Gombori Pass, known for its scenic views of the Caucasus Mountains.
Upon arrival in Tbilisi, you will embark on a city tour, exploring some of the most famous landmarks:
· Old Tbilisi – Wander through the cobbled streets, admire the colorful balconies, and discover the historic charm of the old town.
· Wine Shops of Old Tbilisi – Visit some of the best wine shops and wine cellars in the heart of the city to taste a variety of Georgian wines.
You’ll have the opportunity to explore Narikala Fortress, Metekhi Church, Sulphur Baths, and other attractions before returning to your hotel.
Spend the night in Tbilisi.
Check-out from the hotel at noon. Free time until transfer to Tbilisi International Airport. End of the tour.
